Daily Painting #18
#18 - Palette Knife
3"x5"
3"x5"
This was a really fun painting. I was planning on painting in the background and shadows but, once I got to this point, I loved it too much to add more. The stark contrast to the white background is not very well photographed- I'll work on getting a better picture- but it looks really neat.

Poolside II
I actually finished this a few months ago, but it appears I forgot about posting it.
The sun has finally poked out of the clouds here, but after a week or so of really cold, rainy weather this was looking pretty nice...

Memories
This painting is actually quite a few years old. I painted this in 2005-6 and entered it into the Scholastic Art and Writing competition. It won a Regional Gold Key and a National Silver Medal. However, this painting means a lot more to me. This house is the house in which my grandfather grew up in McGill, Nevada. The figures are my grandfather as a young boy and as an aviator during WWII (although when I showed it to him, he was a little confused and was certain the other was his brother). These were his memories.
My grandfather passed away last week. He was a great man, I am grateful for the memories that I have of him.
